Executive Director  -  Sharon Rice


A graduate of Waterloo University, Sharon’s career in education began as a classroom teacher in Kingston and culminated with the Upper Grand District School Board as Coordinator of Program Services in charge of curriculum for Wellington and Dufferin Counties. Following retirement, she enjoyed part-time contract positions with the Ontario Veterinary College, Career Education Council, Raffi the children’s entertainer, and as course developer Conestoga College.

A committed volunteer, Sharon has extensive experience with non-profit organizations, one of which is the Elora Festival where she served as Board Chair, Volunteer Coordinator and General Manager. An active member of the Rotary Club of Guelph, she carried out an International Service project in Tanzania building a children’s library at a Leprosy Rehabilitation Centre.  To support the rebuilding of schools and libraries following Hurricane Katrina, Sharon assisted with the collection of 10,000 books, which were transported to New Orleans by Magna International. As one of four judges selected from across Canada, she read 800 children’s books during several winters to prepare for the awarding of the Mr. Christie Children’s Book Award.  She served on the Board of Governors for Groves Hospital, the Management Board of River Run, and Centre Wellington Strategic Planning Committee. She is recipient of several awards including the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Wellington County Volunteer of the Year Award.

Director of Operations  -  Joanne Grodzinski


Joanne Grodzinski began her career as an educator after graduating from the University of Toronto. She has authored books on elementary school mathematics and Canadian Citizenship for ESL students; and, is the co-creator and producer of the award-winning recording “Maestro Orpheus and the World Clock”, a children’s story set to classical music. For 17 years she owned and managed the Carden Street Music Shop, which specialized in classical and jazz recordings and books in Guelph, Ontario. She has held the positions of General Manager of the Elora Festival and Singers and was the Founding Executive Director of the Guelph Youth Music Centre. She continues to work part-time as a non-profit management consultant. Her most recent projects include her roles as Project Advisor and Mentor for Community of Hearts and Grants Associate with the London Symphonia.

An enthusiastic and active volunteer for many years, Joanne has served as President of the Guelph Spring Festival, the Guelph Downtown Board of Management, and the Elora Centre for the Arts. She continues to volunteer with several other community organizations in Guelph and Elora and currently sits on the Board of Third Age Learning Guelph.

Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator  -  Jenifer Grimshaw

Having graduated from York University in Sociology coupled with her Business Marketing Diploma from Conestoga College, Jenifer's desire for helping others flourished as she started her career in the non-profit sector. Her passion for helping others began during her time at Conestoga, as she ran a volunteer event for a local Charity. With previous experience in special events, this career-changing event was kismet.

Jenifer has had notable roles in her growing career while working for organizations such as the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Huntington Society of Canada and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.  She is now an important part of the Guelph Wish Fund for Children's Management team.
